Apparently, I'm a terrible blogger.

A little bit of happenings in the last 7 months 4 years:



So, basically, we've earned two degrees (one each), had two kids, and we've bought two houses!

After graduating (May 2015), Landin went into advertising as he planned and it only took less than a year to realize that the corporate world sucks. After Kayson was born (Sept 2015), it became clearer to us that we had no desire to spend the majority of our time furthering other people goals while surrounded by people we don't particularly care about. We want to spend our time together as a family! We started looking for other avenues of income to free ourselves from our current busy lifestyles that weren't getting us anywhere fast. So Landin started working as a real estate appraiser with my brother Sam (May 2016). The idea wasn't to get rich being an appraiser but to earn more money with less time so that we could step away from our busy 9-5 + commuting + daycare drop off/pick up + anything else schedules that only gave us a couple short hours together as a family each night, to then use the extra time toward efforts that will fund OUR families and our time together. Basically, we were looking to invest extra time and money into projects, ideas or businesses that would allow us to spend more time together. We started exploring ideas and ended up picking up a real estate book (January 2017) that proposed setting the goal to purchase a real estate investment property within the next 12 weeks. So, we took the challenge and bought our second home and rented out our first (April 2017). I was about 8 months pregnant at that point, so we settled in and did a little nesting and welcomes our second son, Luke to the family shortly after (May 2017).

Gifting is not my love language. I like gifts and I like giving gifts but I feel like I'm just terrible at it and especially when it comes to Landin. It seems we are at a point in our lives where if we really want/need something, we usually just buy it for ourselves yet at the same time, I'm pretty frugal so unless it's something we really want/need, I hate to spend money on something we don't need just for the sake of buying something just because the calendar says so. If I'm going to give a gift, I want it to be thoughtful and meaningful and useful. So...I didn't get Landin anything for Christmas 🙈 I knew he didn't need or want anything (except a Tesla but ya know...) and I really wanted to get him SOMETHING because he absolutely deserves anything and everything he wants (even a Tesla but ya know...) but alas, I couldn't come up with anything and the next thing I knew the day came and went and I had nothing to give him. Top 100 newlywed highlights!

Our wedding day was such a great day. We were sealed for time and all eternity at the Orquirrh Mountain temple at 9:00am. Walking into the sealing room and seeing so many people who we love and who love us was heartwarming and unforgettable. It was such a special surreal feeling to kneel across the alter and look at each other and see eternity. It was that same heartwarming and unforgettable feeling when we walked out of the temple and were greeted by all of our friends and family waiting outside. Unfortunately, it was quite cold and windy so we weren't able to get many pictures of the whole group but they sure were champs for sticking it out in the cold to greet us. After our sealing, we had a small ceremony where my dad walked me down the aisle and a good friend of the family, Bishop Neil Bushman, talked a bit about why being married in the temple was so important to us.
